6 Fundamental Rights all Children in England and Wales have

Firstly, it is important to establish what a Child in England and Wales is. According to the Children Act 1989, any person under the age of 18 is a Child. 

All Children have the rights, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or culture. These rights include, but are not limited to:

The Right to Education

This includes access to free primary and secondary education, as well as support for any special educational needs.

The Right to Protection

Children are entitled to protection from harm, abuse and exploitation. This includes protection from neglect and physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

The Right to Health

Children have the right to access healthcare services, including preventative care, treatment for illness and injury and support for mental health and well-being. 

The Right to a Safe Environment

Children have the right to live in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their physical, emotional and social well-being

The Right to Privacy

Children have the right to privacy and protection of their personal information. They also have the right of confidentiality in certain matters such as healthcare and legal proceedings.
